letters from barcelona (#5)

Our Dearest Gabs, Frelly & Hanky,

We hope that you had another happy and fun day at school. We have been thinking about you a ton and want you to know how very much we love you. Honestly, as beautiful and fun as Spain is, we are looking forward to giving each of you a very big hug and and kiss.

Today was another cold and rainy day, and according to the weather forecast we are going to have much of the same for the rest of the week.

Mommy relaxed and napped for much of the day. She deserved it after what she had to eat yesterday. Meanwhile daddy turned off his alarm and overslept and woke up five minutes after he was already supposed to be atthe convention center!

Work for Daddy has been long and hard (mainly this is because for ten hours a day); he stands in one general area unable to sit down. It's painful on the feet, but amazingly as soon as work is over the pain goes away...this is because meeting up with mommy is just a few short moments away. I love seeing her after a long day. It makes it all worth it. :) tonight we met at the Picasso Museum (daddy took the subway and mommy took a taxi) and looked at a bunch of his work. Pablo Picasso is a world famous artist. It was very cool! We couldn't take pictures so we bought postcards of our favorite pieces. Afterwards we got dinner right next to museum at a yummy noodle place as mommy was starving and couldn't even consider driving anywhere to eat.

Then we wandered the old, narrow streets of Barcelona and took in some of the deep, rich history of the area. We saw a real castle, which was used to keep the Romans out of Barcelona way back in the 4th century. That's a long time ago...about three days before the Spaniards discovered dirt. :) Oh and you could totally see where the moat used to be. We think it had alligators in it back in the day. We saw lots of balconies with laundry hanging out to dry & a ton of graffiti, we took pictures to show you.

To get out of the rain, we found this wonderful cafe with the best pastries, Spanish cakes and xocolata suiza (thick hot chocolate w/ whipped cream)....So good! Daddy had a chocolate sundae with hot chocolate poured on it. Mommy made fun of him for eating it too fast and not savoring it. She always says you are supposed to stop & enjoy your food! As you can tell, we are doing plenty of eating.

Sleep well little ones. We love you. Love you most. Love you more than anything!

Mom and Dad
