ricky's ears never drained after birth, so after 5 months of hoping they would do it on their own, he needed tubes. kitty brought michael & i a pound of see's candy & sat with us the entire time. pre-surgery he was very good despite being deprived a bottle for several hours.... post surgery, he was a wreck. he screamed for a solid hour until i finally convinced the nurse he needed pain medication. his first few days home were a balance between making sure we weren't too loud & loving watching him turn to the noises... he could finally hear!
